Metal Albums of the past couple years : you're opinions?
I’ve recently collected a quite extensive but not nearly complete collection of metal music .. since I have recently found my undying and unconditional music for heavy metal, whether it be doom, gothic, death, melodic, black, folk .. and even some hardcore bands, deathcore, and the like.
I am carefully downloading many albums a month, sneakily keeping out of Cogeco’s targets not to get disconnected, and I mainly browse threw the internet, mostly Google, for lists of metal albums considered ‘epic’ for that year.
So I was wondering, what is you’re opinion, what are the best metal albums of 2009, 2008, 2007, 2006, all the way to 2000.
And what are you’re favorite metal albums of all time, albums you consider simply NEEDED for any metal head.
I’m looking forward to much diversity and input from everybody, thank you.

Kiss the Lie by Candiria
EarthsBlood by God Forbid
the Concealers by Daath

2008
(first let me warn you, this list is 100% killer, 0% filler, 2008 was an absolutely monstrous year for metal, and these are just the albums I’ve listened to, I’ve got more albums from 2008 that I haven’t heard yet that are probably just as good

My opinion is let the albums and music find its way through you. I’m trying not to be a metal snob or anything but I think it’s best way. I mean if you go to a concert you usually see the bands opening for the main band and you have more artists to add to your list, if there’s a soundtrack or compilation that you’re interested in that allows you to know more artists, etc. I know you’re desperate for new stuff but you’ll find out pretty soon that what other people recommend isn’t usually what you personally like. Keep the metal alive \m/
